Posted October 2007
I am pleased to announce that we did have a quorum at this
year’s Annual General Meeting held on Thursday October 18th.
As a result we were able to elect an executive for 2008. The results are:
President Jeff Forsyth
Vice President Vacant
Secretary Kathy Rowe
Treasurer Tony Sibley
Executive:
Heather Lemieux, Marilyn Hodge, Patricia Cruickshank, Mike
White, Mike Toumaiuolo,
Jake Forsyth, Gayle Gibson, Adele Pugliese, Neil O’Brien,
Betty Karsh, Chris Welch.
I announced at the meeting that I would like to step down as
president but without a vice president as an obvious successor it is
difficult to achieve this succession plan. If anyone is interested
in assuming the role of vice president please get in touch with me.
On Friday October 26th I had the honour of
attending a Toronto Region Conservation Authority meeting to receive an
Honour Roll Award as a member of the Port Union Waterfront Trail
Implementation Committee. Each year the Toronto Region Conservation
Authority selects approximately 5 worthy recipients to receive this award
as a way for the Conservation Authority to publicly express their
appreciation to citizens and groups who have voluntarily contributed to
the Authority’s goals. It was an honour to receive this recognition from
the Conservation Authority.
Looking ahead to December our Annual Community Christmas
Carol Concert will be held on Sunday December 16th at St
Dunstan’s Church. Further information in our next newsletter.
