Highland Creek
Community Stewardship Program
Posted May. 08
What a
ride it has been! The Highland Creek Community Stewardship Program (HCCSP)
is completing its 3rd and final year this June. Thank you to
all the individuals who have helped make this project a success. We could
not have done it without you!
Here’s
what 3690 tireless volunteers can do:
o
Accumulate over 12,500 hours of volunteer time (that’s 520 days!)
o
Plant 8685 trees and shrubs
o
Plant 1517 wildflowers
o
Clean up 6211 kilos of garbage
The HCCSP
has also been made possible through generous contributions from the
Centennial Community and Recreation Association, the Friends of Highland
Creek, The Scarborough Arts Council, Toronto and Region Conservation, the
City of Toronto and The Ontario Trillium Foundation.
Attend
the following events and celebrate the beauty of the Highland Creek
watershed, and all of the volunteer’s efforts. These events will be held
in conjunction with each other. You have the option to attend both, or
either one separately.
What a
great way to get outdoors and enjoy nature with friends and family.
Please register for either event by contacting Adam Barker at
416-698-7322, stewardship@scarborougharts.com.
