Several development projects within our boundaries are
currently under construction or under review by the City of
Toronto. The first is
the connection of the north and south sections of Andona Crescent,
northwest of Rozell Road and Port Union Road. The second is a
single-family residential project abutting Wanita Park (north and south)
along Meadowvale Road. The third is an infill project between Centennial
Road and Brumwell Street, north of Lawson Road on a new street named St.
Magnus Drive. On a smaller scale, the fourth is the subdivision of the
former lot at 369 Lawson.Road.
Andona Crescent
Having satisfied all requirements of the Draft Plan process
over the past two years, the construction of the
Andona Crescent extension
has commenced. Over the last two months the site has been cleared and
preliminary grading operations have begun.
Meadowvale and Wanita
The applicant is continuing work on the Draft Plan of
Subdivision, associated engineering and landscaping plans.
St. Magnus Drive
The City has received a plan of subdivision for 26 lots
comprised of severed portions of the rear lots of properties that front
onto Centennial
Road and Brumwell Road, north of Lawson. The new St. Magnus Drive will
terminate in a cul-de-sac abutting existing rear lots of properties that
fall within an existing tributary of Adam’s Creek. The area surrounding
the watercourse is protected under the Ravine Protection By-law. The lots
will have frontages of 15.24m and 15.23m which conform to the existing lot
sizes in the area. The plans are currently in circulation to various
approval agencies. The City is awaiting comments from all reviewers prior
to preparing a Staff Report to the Scarborough Community Council.
369 Lawson Road
In December 2007 the Committee of Adjustment ruled in
favour
of the request to allow the subject property to be divided into three
single family dwelling building lots. Each lot will have a frontage of
approximately 15m (50ft) which is within character to lot frontages within
the area. Currently there is one new structure on the westernmost lot.
The proponent will also have to provide several new drawings and reports
as part of the Site Plan requirements for any homes built on the severed
lots.
The CCRA will continue to monitor these developments through
contact with both the developers and the City planning staff.
